Movie Morning – Harry Potter 7, Part 2 (The Final Episode) – July 2011
On Saturday July 16th, the team and I hosted our premier movie morning of the final blockbuster episode of the Harry Potter series. This event drew a record 325 of our clients, their friends and relatives to make it the biggest event we ever hosted! The line up went right to the end of the block before the show. We were even joined by our sponsored athlete Kevin Jagger – long track speed skater and his coach.
Guests were treated with hot Starbucks coffee, hot chocolate, and Tim Horton’s donuts to help them tolerate the torrential downpour before the movie. We gave away 14 door prices to a most deserving group of Harry Potter fans dressed as their favourite characters. The electricity in the air was amazing and the anticipation unbearable for our audience young and old. And boy were those new airline style seats at Dunbar Theatre comfortable.
The movie itself was one of the best ever produced in the series according to the comments after the show. High energy, entertaining and good to see that in the end “the good guy really does always win”. Voldemort gone
forever . . . we hope!
The team treated our guests with 150 t-shirts, 150 Harry Potter posters and we collected over 10 boxes of non-perishables for the Vancouver Food Bank – thank you for your donations. And thanks to all who were able to join us for this fun event. All in all a good day!
